Who we are

Vedetta is an independent, unofficial native client for Sentry.io, available on iOS and Android. In these terms, "we," "us," and "Vedetta" refer to the independent developer of the Vedetta app, and "you" refers to you, the user.

The short version

• Vedetta is free to explore on built-in demo data. No account, sign-up, or payment is required to try the full feature set.
• Vedetta Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks connecting your own Sentry account, live data, and push alerts. It is 1 month free, then $19.99/year.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You manage and cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account.
• You bring your own Sentry token and data; you are responsible for your use of Sentry and for keeping your token secure.
• The app is provided "as is," without warranties, to the extent permitted by law.

License to use the app

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Vedetta on devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app, or reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by law.

On Apple platforms, your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA), and on Android to the Google Play Terms of Service. Where those store terms conflict with these terms with respect to the app, the store terms govern for that platform.

Vedetta Pro subscription

Vedetta is fully usable on built-in demo data at no cost. Vedetta Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks connecting your own Sentry account, viewing your live issues and events, real-time push alerts, and background alerting.

Price and free trial

• Introductory free trial: 1 month free for new subscribers who are eligible (eligibility is determined by the App Store or Google Play).
• Then: $19.99 per year (or the equivalent in your local currency at the store's price tier), billed annually.
• If you are not eligible for the free trial, the yearly price applies from the start.

Automatic renewal

The subscription renews automatically at the then-current yearly price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

Billing, management, and cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your store account settings: iOS via Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, and Android via the Google Play subscriptions page. Subscriptions are handled entirely by the respective app store; we do not store your payment details.

If your subscription lapses

If your subscription expires or is canceled, Vedetta returns to the free demo experience. It does not lock you out, and your locally stored Sentry token is kept on your device (until you sign out) so that re-subscribing reconnects you. Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play according to their policies.

Subscriptions are per platform: a subscription purchased on the App Store applies to your Apple devices, and one purchased on Google Play applies to your Android devices.

Your responsibilities and acceptable use

• You are responsible for your own Sentry account, your access token, and your use of Sentry's service and data through the app.
• Keep your access token secure. Use only tokens and scopes you are authorized to use.
• Do not use Vedetta to violate any law, Sentry's terms, or the rights of others, and do not attempt to disrupt or misuse the app or the Vedetta push relay.

Third-party services

Vedetta connects to Sentry's API on your behalf and, if you enable notifications, to Apple's and Google's push infrastructure and the Vedetta push relay. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content. How your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Vedetta is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that alerts will always be delivered. Vedetta is a tool for viewing your Sentry data and is not a substitute for Sentry's own service or for your own monitoring and operational practices.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vedetta and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app or subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app, and we may revise these terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. When we revise these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the app. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
